The Cupcake Book: Red White and Blue!

Happy Independence Day!!!

Today, in Honor of our wonderful country, those who fight for us, and the celebration that is the 4th of July, I made a Patriotic "Lemonade" Red White and Blue cupcake! This morning I got up and made some fresh squeezed lemonade and infused these cupcakes with a little of it. These babies looked SPECTACULAR, but the 'lemonade' flavor didn't quite come through in the cake, the frosting however was very delicious and lemonade-esque. Though they rose just fine, they do need some work because they were a little tough; I think it was from over-stirring when I dyed the red and blue portions of batter. Oh well, they still represented today's festivities marvelously!
